With over 500 golf courses spread across the country there is a lot of golfing that awaits the intrepid traveller to China. The next time you want to go on a golf holiday look no further than China.

Let’s start with Beijing where you have the Beijing International Golf Club, close to the picturesque Ming Tomb Reservoir. This 18 hole, par 72 golf course has played host to the VOLVO China Open for 3 consecutive years. The toughest hole? Undoubtedly the 7th with a 405-yard fairway and par 4.

The Mission Hill World Cup Golf Course in Shenzhen is the world’s largest golf complex as accredited by the Guinness World Records. Its twelve 18-hole golf courses are designed by the game’s greatest players and course architects, and spread across an area of over 20 square kilometers from Shenzhen to Dongguan in Southern China, just 30 minutes outside of Hong Kong.

Mission Hills has seen champions like Tiger Woods and Greg Norman work their magic on it. Reason enough for it to be on your ‘must play at’ list?

The Lake Course is set on the banks of the Yang Zonghai Lake and is world-renowned for its narrow fairways, crisscrossing trenches, green terraces and breathtaking lake views. A 150-yard elevation drop between Hole 1 on the hill and Hole 9 by the lake side provides a unique and lush effect for players. The golf course also has strong winds which increase the game difficulty, creating a more challenging game. The Mountain Course is set on high grounds overlooking the Yang Zonghai Lake. This offers golfers spectacular views of the picturesque lake and the verdant hills. Golfers find the view both inspiring and soothing while they allow the challenging course to test their skills and bring out their best game.

The Xi’an International Golf Club is a 18-hole and 72 par standard golf course occupying an area of over 2,000 acres.
